Aries:

They just tell you they’re into you outright.

Aries is probably the boldest of the entire zodiac. They are fiery and barrel headfirst into everything they do. This is especially true when it comes to dating. If they like you, they need to have you. Like, right now.

Aries doesn’t believe that slow and steady wins the race. Why take your time when you can have something right now? Aries runs on passion and impulse. They aren’t shy about what they want and will outright tell you if they like you (usually in explicit detail).

Taurus:

They don’t usually text you first, but will always match your energy if you initiate a conversation.

Taurus is a grounded earth sign that approaches romantic relationships with a fair amount of reservation. This is because Taurus dates to find their soulmate, not someone to simply pass the time with until the real thing comes along.

Gemini is one of the most analytical of the zodiac signs. They are incredibly intelligent and adore stirring, intellectual debates, especially with someone they are interested in romantically.

Gemini needs you to stir their mind for you to awaken their heart. If they’re texting you about deep, meaningful, and complicated subjects, it’s because they think you can keep up with their weaving, never-quiet brain. It is a compliment. And if Gemini adds in some flirtatious teasing to those convos? Well, they’re crushing hard.

Cancer:

They text you “goodnight” each night before they fall asleep.
Cancer is a tender, emotive water sign. They are caring, nurturing, and crave stability in romance above all else. They need to feel safe with you to fall.

Cancer is incredibly romantic, meaning they will find subtle, sentimental ways to show their affection to you, especially if you have yet to DTR. This means they’ll usually text you goodnight every evening before they drift to sleep themselves to give you the hint they’re thinking of you (in their bed, no less).

Leo:

They double-text you.

Leo needs undivided, consistent attention from the people they date. If a Leo is truly into you and it’s been a while since you’ve responded to their last text, they will text you again.
Leo’s double-texting is not out of insecurity necessarily. It’s because Leo loves attention, especially from romantic interests. It’s their way of communicating that they want your eyes on them and only them.

Virgo:

They ask you tons of questions about yourself.
Virgos are problem solvers and caretakers, meaning they take great interest in caring for the people they hold close. If they’re crushing on you, Virgo will be extra attentive in the form of endless questions about you, your day, your interests, and your life goals. And, with whatever answers you give, they’ll have long, drawn-out conversations about your day, your interests, and your life goals. Virgo will be particularly keen to give you advice on these things if they like you. It’s their way of showing love.

Libra:

They compliment you.
Libras are naturally flirtatious, charismatic, and romantic. The ultimate air sign, Libra does not settle down easily. They tend to float around from romantic interest to romantic interest. They see great fun in getting to know other people, even if it isn’t necessarily long-term.

That said, if a Libra does have feelings for you, you’ll know because they’ll text you compliments. It’s their way of saying they see you, they notice you, and they value you. You’ve got their attention.
Scorpio:

Lol, you don’t.

Scorpio is the most elusive zodiac sign, and if you’re trying to decipher whether they have feelings for you through their texts…good luck.

Scorpios tend to keep their heart tightly locked away until they are both sure of how they feel but mostly they want to feel secure in that you like them, too. Scorpios do not take well to rejection so they have their walls high at pretty much all times in order to protect themselves from the possibility of it even happening.

Sagittarius:

Sagittarius is all about adventure. They want to see the world and expand their horizons. Capricorn is a traditional earth sign. They are value-driven, with those values being productivity, efficiency, and accuracy. If a Capricorn has a crush, they will prioritize their incredibly busy schedule to find ways to text said crush, usually at exact intervals, to make sure they are checking off “show interest in person I want to date” off their to-do list. It may not be the most romantic approach but it is productive, efficient, and accurate, right?

Aquarius isn’t like the other zodiac signs; they’re different. Aquarius is all about their non-conventional interests, hobbies, and beliefs. This can give Aquarius a bit of a superiority complex since they find great pride in being so unique.

Aquarius will text you about their obscure interests because they feel a connection with you and believe you’d understand what it is they’re talking about. Pisces:

They’ll text you every time something reminds you of them.

Like, literally anything that made them think of you. Did you order french fries at dinner once in 2017 and they passed a McDonald’s? You will hear about it if it’s from a Pisces who is crushing on you.

But a Pisces won’t just text you about simple connections. They are big on sentimentality, especially when it comes to music. For example, if a Pisces finds a song they think you’d love, they’ll send it to you with a detailed explanation as to why they think you’d love it. By the way, if they’re sharing their secret Spotify playlists with you, they are most likely in love.

The Day I Found Out I Had Hepatitis C And How It Changed Me

I remember the day I found out about my Hepatitis C diagnosis. I had been to a detox center earlier that month and they’d shown us a video on the importance of getting tested. I thought, “Why not?’” and got tested on the spot by the kind nurses who ushered me into the office.

I had battled with opiate use disorder for six years by then and was still succumbing to the drug that my body so desperately craved. I’d lost touch with my family, lost custody of my son, and was often homeless or in jail by the time I made it to that detox. When I left a couple of days later, I forgot all about the fact I’d gotten tested.

Nearly a week later I was staying with a friend when he’d gotten a phone call. “It’s for you,” he said.
“Me?” I asked incredulously. I had never received a phone call at his house before. I took the phone.

A woman’s voice asked me if my name was Amanda and to verify my last name. I did, growing more concerned by the moment.
“How did you get this number?” I asked, with a bit of an attitude.

“This is the number you listed as your emergency contact when you were in detox last week,” she patiently replied.
“Oh..’” I said, vaguely remembering listing my friend’s number since I was often without a phone.

“We need you to come in as soon as possible,” she said. “When can you make it up here?”
I wanted to know why I had to go in and why she couldn’t just tell me on the phone. She insisted it be in person and so I’d made the trip to the clinic.

“I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you tested positive for Hepatitis C,” the nurse said.
The room started spinning as I suddenly recalled everything I’d learned about Hepatitis. When you have Hepatitis C and you continue to drink alcohol and use drugs, it’s like “pouring gasoline on a fire”, I remembered the video saying.

She suggested a supplement and sent me on my way with a few brochures explaining the disease. As I walked out the door, I tossed them in the trash bin, not wanting my friend to see them and start asking questions. I just wasn’t ready to face it.
In the next two years, I continued to use opiates and when I finally stopped, I used alcohol around the clock. I noticed my hands shaking as I twisted the cap off the bottle each morning, only steadying after I’d had my first few sips of liquor. Like gasoline on a fire, I thought.

My body started to change. I had loved wearing crop tops and bikinis but suddenly my body began to swell, especially in my stomach. I was eating less and less but gaining more and more weight. My feet stopped fitting into my shoes and I started wearing slides. When I pressed down on my wrist, it left an indentation, what I later learned was called edema, a condition caused by liver damage.
On a trip to the ER over an unrelated injury, a doctor hxamined me and declared that I would not make it to 30 years old. I was 26 at the time.

In the next year, I finally was separated from drugs and alcohol when I was sentenced to five years in prison. As I started to regain my health, I still told no one about the Hepatitis, afraid I would be ostracized by the other women.
Still, I was careful to not share razors or tweezers and I passed on getting a prison tattoo. I didn’t want to spread the disease to someone else. After my time in prison, I continued to pursue a lifestyle of recovery. I ate healthy meals, exercised regularly, and gradually became more comfortable sharing my Hepatitis C diagnosis. I wanted to help de-stigmatize it so other people wouldn’t feel ashamed of their diagnosis. I wanted people to see how I was living my life to the fullest, even with Hepatitis C.

I remain open about my diagnosis, wanting people to see how anyone can live a full and happy life with Hepatitis C. If you or a loved one has Hepatitis C, there’s nothing to be ashamed of. You are still just as valuable, talented, and worthy as you were before and by taking extra care with your health, it doesn’t have to permanently disrupt your life.
